INTRODUCTION:

  What do you know about Australia? Do you know what is special about this country? What kind of animals live in Australia? Who were the first inhabitants?

  Australia is a fascinating country full of contrasts. Let's discover more about Australia together!

   Make a group of three and answer the following questions:

QUESTIONS:

1.  Look at this map. Divide Australia into territories and write their names. Place these towns in the map:

2. Most of the animals in Australia can't be found anywhere else. List five of them and describe them.

3. What is the name of this instrument? What is it used for? Who uses it? Click on it to listen to its sound

4. What is the most representative building in Australia? Where is it? Who designed it? Draw its silhouette.

5. Find out about this interesting place. Where is it? Why is it famous? What two names has it got?

6. What is Kakadu? What can you find there? What territory is Kakadu in? Place it on the map

7. What is the Great Barrier Reef? Can you place it on the map? Why is it so famous?

THE BIG QUESTION:

Student ONE: Make a poster with the map of Australia containing the different territories and the main towns, the situation of Uluru, Kakadu and the Great Barrier Reef and explain to your classmates about all these places and why they are so popular.

Student TWO: Explain what you have learnt about Australian Aborigines, their instruments, habits, culture.

Student THREE: Explain the peculiarities of Australian animals. Choose three of them and explain where they live and what they eat.
