ACTIVITY 7: OCEANS AND CONTINENTS
1. Copy the names of the oceans and continents into your notebook.
2. Read the following text:
In this world map you can the names of the oceans and seas of the world. Here are some facts about them:
71% of the surface of our planet is water.
There are five oceans and many seas.
The water in the oceans is 97% of the total water on Earth.
The five oceans of the world are Arctic, Atlantic, Indian, Pacific and Southern Ocean.
There are many other seas: Arabian Sea, Baltic Sea, Bering Sea, Black Sea, Caribbean Sea, East China Sea, Gulf of Mexico, Hudson Bay, Mediterranean Sea, Red Sea, Sea of Japan, Sea of Okhotsk and South China Sea.
The Pacific Ocean is the largest ocean in the world.
Then come the Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean, Southern Ocean and the Arctic Ocean.
3. Open the world map of your book. Work in pairs and find the differents oceans and seas.
4. Read this information about the continents.
Europe - a continent in the Northern Hemisphere. Europe is attached to Asia (and
west of it).
