4.1 Uniformly accelerated movement: area under the v/t curve

In a Uniformly Accelerated Movement, as in Uniform Movement, the area under the v/t curve always coincides with the space covered by the moving body.
In a Uniformly Accelerated Movement, the figure formed by the v/t graph and the time axis is a trapezium. The trapezium is formed by a rectangle and a triangle.

 

 

            

The area of the trapezium is equal to the area of the triangle plus the area of the rectangle 

Area of the rectangle:

base x height

Area of the triangle:

(base x height)/2
