Cristina Mejías

Cádiz, 1986

Degree in Fine Arts from the Universidad Europea de Madrid (UEM), NCAD in Dublin and Research Master's in Art and Creation at the UCM. After several years’ residence in Berlin, she now lives and works in Madrid. She is a visual artist whose work has been or will be individually exhibited at Centro Párraga (Murcia, 2020), Blueproject Foundation (Barcelona, 2020), Casa Pinillos (Cádiz,2020), The Goma gallery (Madrid, 2019) and the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo del Zulia (Maracaibo, Venezuela, 2017). Her work has also appeared in group exhibitions at CA2M, Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo (Madrid, 2020), La Casa Encendida (Madrid, 2020), SCAN Projects (London, 2020), AragonPark (Madrid, 2020), CentroCentro (Madrid, 2020 and 2016), C3A (Cordoba, 2019), C Arte C (Madrid, 2019), among others.

She has recently won a number of awards and grants, including Generación 2020 from La Casa Encendida (Madrid, 2020), Blueproject Foundation (Barcelona, 2020), Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo (2019) or Iniciarte (2019). Over the course of the last few months she has also been artist in residence at the Hangar Lisboa, C3A (Cordoba), Matadero Madrid-Ateliers dos Coruchéus (Madrid-Lisbon) and at Tabakalera (San Sebastian) as part of its international residencies programme. Her works can be found in the collections of Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo, CAAC, Fundación Montemadrid, Meana-Larrucea, Navacerrada, Fundación Mendoza, Alicia Aza y Kells.
