Gonzalo Fuentes

Málaga, 1991

Completed his BFA at the University of Málaga and went on to earn an MA in Research in Art and Creation from the Complutense University of Madrid.

In 2014 his first one-man show entitled Juegos de construcción was held at the Málaga Fine Arts Faculty Gallery. His second solo exhibition, Modular Pavilion, opened in 2016 at Columna JM in Málaga.

He has also participated in several group shows, most notably T(RE)Silience, T(RE)Silence, T(RE)Sidence (Municipal Archives of Málaga), Saque de puerta (Centro Arte Complutense, Madrid), El ojo efervescente (Provincial Cultural Centre of Málaga) and IKAS ART, the International University Art Show in Bilbao.

Gonzalo has received distinctions and awards in several contests, including the 30th BMW Painting Prize, the 17th Complutense Youth Award, the Málaga Crea Visual Arts Show, NordArt 2015, the University of Málaga Painting Prize and the Griffin Art Prize. He has also been awarded various grants such as the 4th Encontro de Artistas Novos Cidade da Cultura Grant, the 2nd Graduate Artist-in-Residence Grant from the University of Málaga's Fine Arts Faculty, and the Cienfuegos Production Grant.
