One of the most outstanding attractions across all of the trails in the Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche Natural Park is the traditional style of the roads themselves, easily distinguishable due to their cobbles and above all the dry masonry walls which run alongside them, avidly conquered by countless plants and animals which settle within them.
This trail offers an opportunity to enjoy this type of stonework, and others of it's type, such as the irrigation canals that provide water to the numerous orchards in the valley, as well as the town's arenas.
This trail links the towns of Aracena and Corteconcepción along the El Tornero road, and will allow you to explore a huge variety of landscapes; from holm and cork oak forests, to chestnut and olive trees and fruit orchards, walking through some stretches of riverside vegetation associated with the nearby Fuente del Rey stream, which lends its name to a trail ruuning parallel to it and can serve as a return route, as well as an excuse to visit Aracena.
The main road in Aracena is the N-433 (Seville-Lisbon), from which you'll need to take the HU-8126 towards Carboneras and Cañaveral de León. About 500 metres on to our right is the Fuente del Rey road, which is where the trail begins.
