IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

As a preventive measure to avoid the spread of COVID_19, this path must be taken in the direction shown on the start sign.

The Los Cerrillos trail is part of the Camino Viejo, used by pilgrims to go from Andújar to the Sanctuary of the Virgen de la Cabeza. It starts from the place known as Los Cerrillos and reaches the Chapel of San Ginés, a traditional meeting point for pilgrims.

The path ascends gently from the flat farmland, crosses areas of cattle pastures and goes deep into the Sierra, crossing mountains covered with holm oaks, lavender and rockrose. During the flowering season, in the months of April and May, the landscape becomes especially attractive.

It is worth walking this path to see an interesting panoramic view of Andújar and the countryside of the Guadalquivir valley and to cross the narrow paths that cut into the slate rock from the continuous passage of thousands of pilgrims: walkers, cyclists and horse riders.
