IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
As a preventive measure to avoid the spread of COVID_19, this hiking trail must be walked in the direction shown on the start sign.
The path runs along the Camino Viejo al Santuario, the route used by pilgrims to go from Andújar to El Santuario de Nuestra Señora de la Cabeza, for centuries. This pilgrimage is declared a festival of national tourist interest.
We will enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the Sierra de Andújar Natural Park from the Monumento al Peregrino viewpoint. A beautiful walk through a path full of history, culture and tradition in an incomparable setting.
From Andújar we go up to the Sierra by the A-6177, to the Viñas de Peñallana visitor centre, where we will take the exit towards Alcaparrosa JV-5011. At km 8 of this road we will find signs that will lead us to San Ginés. You may also get there from Andújar on the Cadena road.
