CANCELA NEGRA - Ventana del Visitante
The Cancela Negra cycle tourist lane runs through the Navas del Berrocal public mountain, it is 28.54 kilometers long.
The Navas del Berrocal public mountain is a place with a landscape of great beauty where we can enjoy its own plant formations from Sierra Morena: holm oak and cork oak groves, riparian vegetation and gallery forests associated with stream courses, Mediterranean oak scrub areas, lentiscos, rockrose and strawberry trees. There are also areas repopulated with pines and eucalyptus.
The fauna is very varied and abundant. The presence of deer, otters, small terrestrial mammals and a great variety of birds of prey such as the owl and the imperial eagle stand out.
This public forest is subject to sustainable forest management, with exploitation of forest resources such as the cork and beekeeping. Other uses are also carried out, such as cattle raising, with pigs and sheep, as well as rural tourism and hunting.
Along the route through this cycle-tourist lane, it is possible to observe "el Berrocal": large granite rocks that by the action of the wind acquire original and striking shapes.
The departure and arrival as in the case of Morilla cycle tourist lane, is done from Cortijo el Berrocal visitor center. This center has parking lots as well as complementary facilities, as well as the recreational area Cortijo el Berrocal. The trails also start from the visitor center. Las Rañas, Los Arrianales and La Mancha del Berrocal.
