The main attraction of this trail is the viewpoint at the top of the Cerro del Maúllo, which offers an unexpected view of something similar to an unearthed fortified castle, which served as a trench during the Civil War. Adding to the awe produced by walking through some of the galleries, is an ancient scene of a brushfire, making this panoramic view of Sierra Nevada surprisingly more beautiful.
This route allows us to stroll through reforested pine forests including the maritime pine, traditionally exploited via its wise bleeding in spiral cuts which allows its resin to escape. These forests are the ideal places to enjoy some birdsong, or watch them scampering for food. The path also descends into ravines with vegetation that paints the landscape in shades of green, ocher and yellow every autumn and spring.
