DESCRIPTION

This viewpoint is located in the heart of the Sierra de Harana, right where the highest peaks meet: the Peña de la Cruz (2,027 metres) and the Pico Orduño (1,981 metres). Just below you can see a large stretch of the Sierra de Huétor Natural Park.

As a backdrop to the dense forests of this mountain range, is the entire chain of the "three thousands" of the Sierra Nevada, named so for their height. Mulhacén at 3,483 metres is the highest in the peninsula, followed by El Veleta at 3,392 metres, the third mountain you see is La Alcazaba at 3,371 the fifth highest in the range.

In the foreground just to the left, we can see the cliff of the vulture nests, which gives us a clue as to what fauna we can surely see flying over the area, although we enjoy the flight of the hawk, one of the fastest birds in the world.

This viewpoint is located on the Puerto Lobo El Sotillo hiking trail.
