CUESTA DE LA TRAICIÓN - Ventana del Visitante
This road, once stormed by bandits, was the old Roman road Camino Pretorio, which connected Corduba with the mining areas to the north. Ascend along a stony dry riverbed, with fossils on slate and limestone that show that this mountain range belonged to the sea in the Primary Era.
In addition to its historical and geological value, it offers the biodiversity of the Mediterranean forest. Among pines and Valencian oaks, accompanied by mastic, strawberry trees or rockrose, we will make out a multitude different of birds, and even small mammals such as rabbits, hedgehogs or badgers. Its excellent panoramic views of the city culminate in the Lagar de la Cruz, where we can follow the road to go up to the hermitages.
