This ecomuseum, dedicated to Cueva de los Murciélagos Natural Monument, is located in the surroundings of this space and is included in the Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park.
Here the visitor will be able to take a trip to the past from a mysterious discovery. This is the interesting starting point for a tour of the various rooms that represent the interior of the cave; a system of cavities and galleries where you can appreciate the beauty of the colors and textures of the karst formations, originated by the slow dissolution of limestone rock.
It will also serve to make known the peculiar beings that inhabit between the cracks in the rocks: bats, flying mammals equipped with a special system that allows them to see in absolute darkness.
Finally, the exhibition shows the importance of the archaeological remains found in it, composed of Human and pictorial skeletons, which have been key to reconstructing the history of man's past in the south of the Peninsula.
The Zuheros City Council provides more information about the Natural Monument Cave of the Bats, including schedules.
From the urban centre of Zuheros, we take the road that leads to the Cueva de los Murcielagos. We continue along it for 3.8 kilometres until we access the facilities that are located about 200 metres from the cave of the same name.
