EL PIMPOLLAR - Ventana del Visitante
This is a circular path that starts from the Cortes de la Frontera recreational area, which is managed by the town hall of this town. It runs through an excellent cork oak forest with centenary trees near the Cork Factory in this town. In the Sierra de Grazalema, the cork oaks also grow in areas that are more or less open oak woodlands (dehesas). These require sandstone soils to proliferate and are often accompanied by heather, gorse and ferns.
On the way we will enjoy beautiful panoramic views and a lime kiln made from sandstone. You will be able to observe the geological differences between sandstone and limestone, as well as cork oaks and holm oaks which are conditioned by the different types of land mentioned.
If you visit this trail in autumn, you will have the chance to hear the deer grunting and find a multitude of mushrooms such as Caesar's mushroom.
