DESCRIPTION

The Cordobilla Reservoir is the third and last reservoir built on the Genil River. Its shallow depth attracts a number of birds to feed in its waters. Surrounded by abundant vegetation made up of willows, jays, reeds, tamarisk trees and reeds, its banks serve as an ideal shelter for the wildlife.

There are grey heron, purple heron, white stork and western swamphen in the reservoir. While in the surroundings, it is possible to see cranes, as they spend their winters in the area.

In terms of birds of prey, marsh harriers breed here, and during migration you can see osprey. The reservoir is also visited by three species commonly seen around the coast: the lesser black-backed gull, black-headed gull and great cormorant.
