DATA OF INTEREST
DESCRIPTION

The Fuente de Piedra Lagoon is the largest endorheic lagoon in Andalusia. Along with this lagoon, there are other smaller pools in the nature reserve of great ecological importance.

The Albinas hiking trail allows us to get closer to the lagoon or main pool, while this one, the Laguneto path, brings us closer to some smaller pools. The path starts from the vicinity of theJosé Antonio Valverde visitor centre and takes us to two observatories from where we can contemplate the great diversity of birds in the environment.

HOW TO GET

From the Sevilla-Almería motorway (A-92) take exit 132 to "Laguna de Fte. Piedra". If coming from Málaga or Granada, bear right at the first exit, to take the MA-6408 towards Fuente de Piedra. If departing from Seville, continue straight after the exit from the A-92, avoiding the first turning to the right and taking the MA-6408 towards Fuente de Piedra-Humilladero. Cross the town of Fuente de Piedra following signs to the Sierra de Yeguas A-7279 road and the Laguna. To get to the Visitor Centre, leave the urban centre, and after passing the structure that saves the railroad tracks, turn left after 250 metres, along a signposted paved road.
NOTICE: The carpark is not monitored. For your safety, please do not leave objects, including valuables, on display in your car.
