La Rejía and Los Horcajuelos are the two impressive waterfalls that we will have the opportunity to discover while walking this hiking trail the surface of which is composed of peridotites, these are magmatic rocks, rich in heavy metals, that come from the earth's mantle and are very rare on the Earth's surface, in fact the province of Malaga is home to the second largest surfacing of these stones in the world. These rocks are what give the lands the reddish-brown colour which is so characteristic of some mountain ranges in the Sierra de las Nieves Natural Park.
Additionally, we will have the opportunity to contemplate the upper section of the Los Caballos river, as well as numerous streams and courses of clear water, which will delight walkers. There will be sections that we will walk through the inside of lush masses of pine forest, and others that run between more or less dense bushes.
From Tolox, take the lane that starts from Fuente Amargosa and goes up to the port of Las Golondrinas, in a southwest direction. After travelling for about 3.5 km you will reach the beginning of the hiking trail.
