DATA OF INTEREST
DESCRIPTION

La Tiñosa, at an altitude of 1568 metres, is the highest peak in the province of Cordoba, which is more than enough incentive to reach its summit. Our effort will be rewarded by the sensation of being in a unique place, enjoying fabulous panoramic views of the countryside and numerous Andalusian mountain ranges, including the Sierra Nevada. The route will also allow us to discover several endemic species of plants and geological formations of great beauty and interest, formed in very different ages and contexts and which have earned them the status of UNESCO World Geopark.

This trail starts in the village of Las Lagunillas at an altitude of 810 m and goes into the heart of the Sierra Horconera where a forest of holm oaks and gall oaks awaits us.

A special feature of this trail is the section from Puerto Mahína to the Tiñosa peak, which is only suitable for the most experienced walkers due to its demanding nature. In this section we find the characteristic piornales and it is easy to see the griffon vultures flying over our heads. It is undoubtedly an incomparable route and for this reason it is one of the main attractions of the Sierras Subbeticas Natural Park.

Warning: This trail is exclusively for pedestrians and requires authorisation. You can obtain this authorisation telematically through a procedure that you can access by clicking on the option "AUTHORISATION REQUIRED" under the carousel of images on this same page.
