This visitor centre is located next to the Laguna de Zóñar itself, the deepest lake in Andalusia. Doing a tour of the interactive exhibition, it is possible to discover aspects such as the dimensions, vegetation and dynamics of this large interior lake. From the viewpoint on the botanical path which runs around the centre, you can see a wide panoramic view of the lake that will help visitors to see these interesting characteristics for themselves.
Once inside the centre again, the enlarged view of a drop of water serves as an introduction to the explanation of the food or trophic chain of the living beings that inhabit the aquatic environment. The variety of insects, the importance of amphibians and reptiles and the mammals of the environment are a faithful reflection of the abundant fauna that lives in this place.
Finally, from the terrace you can look out at the lagoon. Here visitors can identify species such as the striking white-headed duck which is sadly a threatened species. The birds are quite clearly the main attracion in this landscape.
On the A-304 road from Aguilar de la Frontera to Puente Genil, we take the exit at kilometre 3 and continue along this road. Passing the recreational area and about two kilometres after the exit, we arrive at the visitor centre. The centre is approximately four kilometres from Aguilar.
