The track starts from the old village of La Resinera (a few metres from the La Resinera information point) and climbs up the left bank of the river Cacín along the old bridle path that connected the coast with the interior of the province.
Along the route you can see the forest of black and Aleppo pines, the result of the reforestation carried out in the 80s and 90s after the fires that took place in this area.
You can also see the old stumps of burnt trees and the remains of the old and the remains of the old dwellings of the resin makers who used to make use of the resin from these mountains.
When you reach the highest part, you can enjoy the impressive views of the port of Frigiliana and the unique massif of El Lucero or Cerro de los Moriscos.
Desde Granada por la carretera A-44 dirección Motril se toma la salida 144 hacia la A-4050 Otívar. Una vez en la carretera A-4050 continuar aproximadamente 17 kilómetros hasta tomar la carretera GR-3302 en dirección Jayena/Arenas del Rey. En el tramo de esta carretera que comunica los núcleos urbanos de Arenas del Rey con Fornes, tomamos, a mitad del recorrido entre ambas poblaciones, la salida señalizada hacia la Resinera. Continuando por este camino accedemos al equipamiento, que está frente al punto de información.
