DATA OF INTEREST
DESCRIPTION

The path begins at a tentadero near the mine slag that gives the path its name (Los Escoriales). Initially, we will be accompanied by an open oak woodland (dehesa) landscape whose massive granite troughs for cattle will surprise us.

Perhaps the greatest attraction is its end, in the vicinity of La Lancha, a town created specifically for the residence of builders who worked on the construction of the nearby and impressive Jándula dam.

The Jándula dam will show us its heritage value in an environment that is itself spectacular.

HOW TO GET

From Andújar take the A-6177, heading north, towards the sanctuary of the Virgen de la Cabeza. After travelling for about 15 km and passing the park's visitor centre, turn right onto JH-5002 towards the Jándula reservoir. After about 10 km we come to a crossroads next to a tentadero, which is the Spanish word for a small bullring used for training young bulls, where the path begins.
