This trail begins in Cabra, on the Vía Verde del Aceite, and continues along the San Marcos path, which leads to the popular Venta de los Pelaos. The path crosses loamy terrain, over which the mountain olive grove and natural vegetation extend where specimens of blackthorn, hawthorn, rosemary, fig and walnut trees are intermixed.
In the place known as the Fuente de los Frailes you can refresh and rest. Here is an interesting quarry of Roman origin used for the extraction of limestone, where you can still see some mill wheels in situ. In the last stage of the route, to the north, you can see the Picacho de la Virgen de la Sierra, and on its skirt lies the Lapiaz de los Lanchares, a rocky landscape with lunar-like features, with grooves, sharp ridges and holes. This relief was formed by the action of rainwater on limestone in past times in which a dense forest covered these rocks, which were dissolved by acidic waters.
It ends at the Ventas de Los Pelaos, in the immediate vicinity you can see Geosites of interest, which are interpreted by panels, such as el Klippe del Picacho, el Paleokarst de Los Pelaos or el Pliegue de los Pelaos.
There are two accesses to the hiking trail, one starting in the town of Cabra, starting on the Camino de San Marcos or Camino Viejo de Cabra (CP-89), and another at Venta de los Pelaos: accessing it from the CO- 6212, which starts from the A-339 and goes up to the Hermitage of the Virgen de la Sierra.
