DATA OF INTEREST
DESCRIPTION

Joining the Roman Bridge with that of San Rafael, bits of riverside forest emerge along the Guadalquivir river, creating a prodigious amphibious territory in which history and nature, water and land, converge, giving rise to one of the most unique protected areas in Andalusia: Los Sotos de la Albolafia, declared a Natural Monument and included within the UNESCO World Heritage of the Historic centre of Córdoba.

There are about 120 different species of fauna that take shelter in the groves, but it's the birds that really stand out, so don't forget your binoculars so that you can enjoy the fabulous show that takes place every sunset, when hundreds of birds return to their roosts following an ancestral choreography.

In this privileged environment you'll find the San Antonio Mill, whose origin probably dates back to medieval times. It was a flour mill and owes its name to an image of San Antonio that used to be located on an alcove on the façade.

On the upper floor is the information point, which gives information about the natural environment of the Sotos de la Albolafia and the Molinos del Guadalquivir. It has, among other exhibits an tactile model for people with visual disabilities.

Visiting hours:
Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: prior reservation required (check contact details).
