This is exceptional site in terms of sustainability. The newly constructed building has been designed following principles of bioclimatic architecture and inspired by the tidal mills in the area. Another point in its favour is the use of renewable energy: solar and wind. Additionally, it has recovered the space where it sits, the Salina de Leocadia, which had become a landfill after its abandonment.
Located behind the busy Camposoto beach, this centre is an ideal starting point to discover the Bahía de Cádiz Natural Park, with Cycle routes and trails nearby.
The exhibition that is featured inside begins with a multimedia presentation of the park. On the ground floor, through an imaginary marsh spout, the secrets of this Protected Area are discovered. We will be surprised by the miniature models and their colourful panels.
On the upper floor, the visitor is invited to let their imagination fly and contemplate the space in its true dimension, as a whole. Additionally, a viewpoint has been set up, where, thanks to its large windows, comfortably seated we will enjoy this place.
Inside you can manage guided hiking routes, ornithological routes, exhibition routes, etc.
From Cádiz, along the CA-33 (Ctra. De Andalucía), take the first entrance to San Fernando (South), which leads to the Fuente de Las Naciones (or Communication) roundabout, characterised by its monumental rusty cube. Here, choose the first exit, indicated as Playa de Camposoto, and continue in this direction (along the Ctra. De la Bateria de la Ardilla). After going straight ahead in two roundabouts with different monuments, a third roundabout surrounded by flags indicates the visitor centre. We take the third exit (dock on the way to Gallineras) and then the lane that comes out to the right, turned into a paved track that leads, after 250 metres, to our destination.
