DATA OF INTEREST
DESCRIPTION

From this point, you have the opportunity to enjoy a wide view of this valley of the Guadalquivir river and the many peaks that mark it.

In the valley you can see Arroyo Frío, a district belonging to the municipality of La Iruela. Its location represents an example of how human beings have always sought places suitable for the development of their agricultural and livestock activities for their settlement.

Currently its main economic source is tourism due to its privileged situation within the Park.

To the right of the image you can see the Cerrada del Utrero, where the Guadalquivir river has carved a deep gorge for thousands of years. Towards it, the waters of the Arroyo de Linarejos rush in the form of a cascade, especially spectacular in times of heavy rainfall.

The relief that dominates this valley presents, in the multiple rocky outcrops that can be seen, a marked horizontality.

This is reflected in the arrangement of its strata or layers, which have given rise to these impressive limestone massifs, carved over long geological time in the form of cuts by the riverbed.

You will be able to see the difference between the image in the photograph and the view you currently see. The fire that devastated this hillside destroyed a large part of its forest mass, leaving the ground without protection. Among its disastrous consequences, this unfortunate event accelerates erosion processes and increases the risk of landslides and loss of fertile soil.

Prompt repopulation will stop the evolution of erosion thanks to the defense provided by the new vegetation cover.
