RUTA C: ABRUCENA - LA POLARDA - Ventana del Visitante
Abrucena is a town on the northern slope of the Sierra Nevada Natural Park and it is arranged in an elongated shape on a hill.
At the beginning of the route you will be able to observe an impressive panoramic view that includes the entire route that you will travel. In the lower altitude areas there are terraces of rainfed almond crops and a large area of holm oak.
Crowning the panorama are the summits of Buitre, Peña Horadada and La Polarda where the route ends, and from where you can access the Peñon de Polarda refuge. In winter, they make for an attractive picture with snow-capped peaks, the dark schists of the pits and the green strip of the pine forest.
