An attractive hiking trail that runs parallel to the river Guadalentín, which we will cross at the Vado de las Carretas. We will cross several run-down farmhouses and an old forest house. During the tour we will observe spectacular trees, especially Valencian oaks.
It is also likely that we will see some wild ungulates, such as the mountain goat. Wide panoramic views of the valley and dense pine forests, as well as the views offered across the La Bolera reservoir complete the points of interest of this route.
In the final part of our path we will come across a huge Valencian oak with ivy creeping up its trunk.
On the A-326 road between Pozo Alcón and Castril, turn of at km 7.9, signposted for the El Hornico environmental education centre, follow the lane between the campsite and the Bolera dam for 7 km to a farmhouse. Ignore the turn-off onto a cement road to the left in the last kilometre.
