VALLE DE OJÉN - Ventana del Visitante
This cycle route runs along the old Facinas-Los Barrios road, no longer in use but which in some places still has the remains of tarmack.
The hiking trail begins between the ash trees, with a barely noticeable climb, passing through an area of bujeo (typical cracked soil of the Andalusian region) and leads effortlessly into one of the most woody and wet areas of the Los Alcornocales Natural Park. There is exuberant vegetation around the tree trunks, including ivy, ferns and umbilicus rupestris. The bearing of gall oaks in the shape of candelabra is striking, with numerous branches coming out of the same point. This is due to the frequent pruning that used to provide the raw material to make charcoal, no longer produced here.
Bread ovens abound in the area, one of which can be seen from the same hiking trail, left behind by the inhabitants of past times.
From this route there are two very interesting itineraries: the Arroyo San Carlos del Tiradero hiking trail the Canuto de Risco Blanco trail, which also leads to the Puerto de Ojén viewpoint and the Los Tornos recreational area.
