Several hiking trails start from Castaño del Robledo that invite you to discover its privileged environment, through which meadows and chestnut groves extend in original combinations embellished by the long outlines of colour provided by the banks and hedges. From the hiking trail that leads to the Los Casares bridge, some special attributes can be noted such as the fact that the trail runs along two riverbanks and passes by a spectacular waterfall.
If we go in the rainy season, it is worth checking how to get to a spectacular waterfall nearby, the Chorros de Ollarancos, also known as the Chorros del Joyacarón.
Castaño del Robledo is a small town founded in the 16th century. Its name comes from the most frequent tree, a resource in the area and emblem of the Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche Natural Park, it was also emblematic of the primitive forest: the oak grove.
If we enter Castaño del Robledo through the second access coming from Fuenteheridos, we find the sign for the beginning of the trail just before entering the town.
