PASEO DE LOS PINSAPOS - Ventana del Visitante
The itinerary begins with a meandering descent surrounded by a fir forest on peridotites and the typical vegetation of the area such as Genista hirsuta, commonly known as gorse, and Cerastium gibraltaricum, among others. Given the uniqueness of the species, picking plants is prohibited in order to protect them. All along the way we can see waterways that accompany the hiker along the route, so we must take extreme precautions, especially on days with adverse weather conditions.
As for the fauna, it is possible to see mountain goats, common chameleons and Andalusian lizards. If we look up, we will be able to follow the flight of the black kite and the honey buzzard, among other birds, since the entire area is a passage area for migratory birds that travel through the Straits to go to parts of neighbouring Africa in the months of August and September. It is also possible to spot the golden eagle and the peregrine falcon in the breeding season.
The signposted path ends just before reaching a small square next to the road.
Without a doubt, there is more than one reason to make this enigmatic hiking trail which is bursting with life.
